"What the hell are you...wearing?" I asked Roka, eyeing her outfit
She blushed a crimson red.
"You would degrade yourself to something like this?" I used the end of my sword to lift up her skirt a bit.
She still didn't say anything. Her eyes dropped to the floor and clasped her hands together.
"And you," I pointed my sword at the man before her. "don't you touch her with your filthy hands."
He scoffed and walked away, "It's no fun when someone like you interrupts my fun."
I sighed and glanced at Roka, who was sitting on a bench, her jacket buttoned up.
"Explain something to me." I said, sitting next to her.
She looked up at me, her blue eyes burning with embarrassment.
"Why would you put yourself in an outfit that is so reveling and inviting to gross men like him?"
She sat in silence and turned her back to me.
"It was...to get you to notice me...I thought that if I did something ridiculous as this...you would notice me...it kinda backfired...since you're scolding me...like Krom will do when we get back to the palace..."
I felt blood rush to my face.
"You...just wanted me...to notice you? Roka, I notice you all the time. Your magical abilities are getting better and your swordsmanship is improving greatly and your defense-"
"Not like that kind of notice, Ronku-Senpai...I mean, notice me...for the girl that I am...not as the tactician everyone sees me as..."
"Oh...you mean, to view you...in a different mindset...to view you in a different way when we're not...on the battlefield?"
"Yes..." She shivered and adjusted her glove on her right hand.
I rubbed her shoulder and got up, my thumb brushed over her lips and I walked away. I wish there was someway I could explain these complicated, vexing feelings to her.
As I walked back to the palace, I could hear her voice in my head, saying, "Notice me, Senpai..."
I stopped at the door to enter the palace and leaned my back against it, and looked up at the night sky.
"Oh Roka, if only you knew how much I see of you..."
